My sister has been in need of kitty attention for a couple years now. My two older cats were feral when we got them, so they are slow to warm up and she isn't at my house, usually, long enough to have a cat in her lap. A while ago I looked out in my side yard and saw a mama cat with 5 babies. 3 looked Siamese. My mother, sister and myself are suckers for Siamese.
I knew my sister would want one, so I worked hard at "taming" them so she could choose. They were very slow to come around and I was feeling frustrated. Out of the blue, Toulouse (now Spirit) started crying for me and, when I sat down on the floor, would circle me and rub against me. Here he is in my lap:

I was very excited and kept telling my sister he was the perfect cat for her, he was just a love bug. She picked him up and took him home. My sister has a two-year-old boy who is VERY loud much of the time. This kitten has never scratched him for any reason, doesn't run from him, and actually purrs the minute he walks into the room. It's his little best buddy. Musa, my nephew, was sent to his room for a time out the other day. When my sister went in to check on him he had his face on the kitty's side, giant tears rolling on the kitty, and he was telling him all his troubles. I'm so happy Spirit has the perfect home and my sister's family has their perfect pet! (Spirit loves to play in the water, too, and tries to take baths with Musa).
Spirit and Musa:

The other 2 Siamese are still with me, and their 2 sisters have been taken in by great cat people. Mama has yet to be trapped & spayed, but I'm working on it.

Hi Chris;
Great story and I thank you for sharing with us.
Hi Anthony - Thank you! I don't know how people who foster pets for a living do it, I cried with each one I gave to a new home.
I just love a happy ending!
Chris: What a wonderful story. It sounds like these two are the perfect match for each other. Once again you have proven to be the goddess that you are. Take care... thanks for sharing.
Susan - Especially when babies & kittens are involved!
Karen Anne - Thank you. I am so happy they have bonded I was a little worried because he's so young. Now he has a little best friend to grow up with. You are too sweet. How far is Fort Worth from Houston?
Looks like Musa has his very own confidante who won't get upset with him, look at him wildly while trying to understand the speak of a 2 year old, and won't leave him just because he's making a fuss. They are a match made in heaven. I love your heart, Chris. You are a true treasure.
Hi Chris:
How beautiful is Spirit! What a great story, thanks for sharing, it brightened my day!
Wow, Carol, thank you so much. What very kind words. I am happy to have helped Musa find his first best friend kitty to grow up with. : )
Toula - Thank you! He's a beautiful cat, and he's got a great home so I feel very good about it.
Chris, I was wondering how you were doing with that "project" of yours! Sounds like all is going well. Are you having trouble getting mama in a trap or just havent had the time to work with it? A sad aside, two of my feral cats that I've been feeding for 9 LONG years, disappeared last week during our three hard freezes. Even though I've looked forward to the day when they are all gone, I've found I miss their sweet faces at feeding time. We do become attached don't we?
Hi Terry - Actually, mama's been too smart for the trap so far. I had to trap the last kitten, Mystery (now Beatrice) to go to her new home and the lady who adopted her is returning the trap on Friday. So then it's on with the canned mackerel. : )
It's funny, no matter how much of a mess they are, or work they are, we DO still miss them when they're gone. I'm sorry about your kitties. I miss talking to Mystery, even though that "kitten room" is a horrific mess that has to be gutted & scrubbed before we can use it again!
Chris: Houston is about an easy three to four hour drive from Fort Worth. Are you coming for a visit ? That would be too cool !
This is a great story and kudos to you for persevering on the feral cats and finding them homes.
It looks like you have found a new profession - Pet Placement! Thanks for the pictures and sharing
this story with us.
Karen Anne - I just might be! I'll let you know.
Bonnie - I can't have this as my new profession. I'd be crying all the time! I was sad to let each one go. But HAPPY too.
