So I'm 40. Things change. I don't mean the obvious things like not getting carded anymore, grey hair, who is that in the mirror kind of things. I actually was just thinking about entertainment. See below... I think the way we remember Eddie Murphy & Mike Myers is a little different than how our kids think of them. Do you remember those guys?
I know we've all grown up & had kids, including comedians. It's just interesting to me to think about the differences. How many of you remember this "Wild & Crazy Guy", who is now known as the movie father of sweetheart Hilary Duff? Okay, so he was always pretty "family friendly". I just keep picturing him in The Jerk.
And I know this one isn't as big of a stretch, since his cartoon self is gruff & grumpy... but he does have a much more PG vocabulary. Besides, I think the first picture of Denis Leary is hot. : )
And what about this... my daughter comes home from Shrek 3 singing the Immigrant Song by Led Zeppelin. ??? They used to be "devil music" when we listened to them! Remember that? Now they're suitable for kids movies? I remember another mother looking at me funny when my daughter did the YMCA "arms" at a b'day party. I had to remind her about Shrek Karaoke in the Swamp (special features on Shrek dvd).
